This is a mixed class - you can take either Hand Piecing or Hand Quilting, but not both.  You will need to choose which technique you want to focus on for the class.

Hand Quilting:
In this techniques class you'll learn the basics of traditional hand quilting techniques.  If this is something you have always wanted to learn, then join Janet Scott who will show you how to prep your three layers and mark your quilt top with a pattern for stitching.  You will then stitch your quilt block by hand giving it that undeniable and elegant hand crafted look. 

This is a 2  hour technique class. Before class you need to construct one 9 patch quilt block to use during class (please see supply list for details). You will not finish hand quilting the block in class, but you will gain the knowledge and skill set to get off to a good start and be able to finish at home.

Hand Piecing:
In this techniques class you'll learn how to hand piece blocks to make a quilt without a sewing machine. If this is something you've always wanted to learn then join Janet Scott who will show you all the necessary techniques to cut the shapes, sew the units and complete the blocks. This lost art is a true skill and the perfect take along project for sewing on the go.

This is a 3 hour technique class and you will work towards completing one quilt block. You will not finish the block in class, but you will gain the knowledge and skill set to get off to a good start and be able to finish at home.
