Basketcase Class

Learn how to make beautiful scrap baskets using fabric strips , cotton clothesline, a few glue sticks, your sewing machine and any embellishment you want. Based on the concepts in the book "It's a Wrap" and "It's a Wrap II" by Susan Breier, you will learn how to create your own one of a kind basket from fabric strips and cotton clothesline.

We will teach you how to wrap, and how to sew and shape your baskets and then embellish them for a special handmade basket that will make the perfect gift for someone. They also make a great catch all for your sewing area. Student will end up with two finished baskets by the end of the course; one plain unwrapped basket to dye or embellish and the other wrapped in the fabrics of your choice. Take a look around the shop for examples made by your instructor, Diane Fama. Each student will also receive full instructions and a basket making tip sheet during class, authored by your instructor.
