Cross Stitching 101: Introduction to Basic Stitches and Pattern Reading

Cross stitching has had a major resurgence in the past 4 years. This is not the cross stitch you might remember from the 90's.  This class is beginner-friendly designed to give you the skills and confidence to start your stitching journey.

In this hands-on course, you’ll learn essential techniques used in cross stitch, including:

• How to read and follow a cross stitch pattern
• Understanding fabric types - Aida vs. Lugana etc.
• Thread Talk - DMC vs. Fancy Floss
• Different stitching techniques to create neat stitches

The Cross Stitch 101 Kit is included in the price for the class. Throughout the class, you'll work toward completing a small cross stitch project, allowing your to practice your new skills while creating something you can take home and enjoy. 

Supplies Needed:
Small Scissors
Readers/Magnifiers
5" Embroidery Hoop

Prerequisite: No prior experience is required. This class is perfect for complete beginners.

By the end of Cross Stitching 101, you’ll feel confident reading patterns, completing basic designs, and continuing with your own cross stitch projects.

Please arrive to class on time with supplies already purchased. We will begin the class on time.  If you are more then 15 minutes late for class you will not be able to participate. 

Cancellation - If you need to cancel your registration, please contact us, in writing: info@thequiltspotnj.com within 72 hours of the start date of the class. When cancelling at least 72 hours prior to the start date, a refund will only be issued if and when we are able to fill your spot; otherwise, a credit for a future class will be issued.
